Bad ad contest

I think this is a bad ad for many different reasons. This ad is insulting stereotypical, and inappropriate.

The first bad point of this ad is that it depicts men as pigs. This ad is stereotypical it gives the image of what most women picture when they think about men at a bar. They think of old, fat, ugly, disgusting pigs who always try to pick women up. In this ad it shows all of the men in the bar as pigs, this is because they do not have a Trojan condom. The pigs are dirty, fat, ugly, and are drinking. This is offensive as you could infer, that this ad is saying that a lot of men are dirty, fat, drunk pigs who try to pick up women. So we can compare what we infer from the ad and the stereotypical view of men, and it turns out to be very similar.

The second bad point of this ad is that it is very sexist. In the ad it is only the men who are depicted as pigs, aren’t there women who can be as bad as drunkard men? All the women in the poster are beautiful and young and are all being oppressed by the pigs. But isn’t it the same when a women sees a man she likes she hits on him?

The third bad point of this essay is that this poster depicts bars as breeding grounds for men who try to pick up women. Not all bars are like this most people just go to bars to have a fun time, and enjoy themselves. Men and women go to relax have a few drinks and sure even “hook up”; but in the poster it is over done it shows that the bars are only a place to “hook up.”

The fourth and final bad point of this essay is that it’s a marketing gimmick. This ad tells men that if you have a Trojan condom than you will get a woman and if you don’t they will think you are a pig. As it is shown all the men in the poster are pigs, and the women are avoiding them. Although in the background there is one man who has a Trojan condom, and he is not a pig and he also has a women with him. This also applies to the women, the poster tells them only choose a man with a Trojan condom and he will not be a pig.

In conclusion the whole poster is a marketing gimmick, to make people buy Trojan condoms. It falsely advertises, and makes all men ,except those with Trojan condoms, look bad.

imitation

There seems no question but that written letters are going to be out of this world in time. Because of our computers, and email we no longer have the need to send letter through the post. we just send them electronically. Nowadays birthday cards, greeting card, all sorts of different cards, and letter are sent via email. All you need to do is write or download something, and then at the click of a button its off to your person of choice anywhere around the world.
back in the days where Internet was just a dream, and computers looked like nuclear powered reactors; the only ways to get letters to another person was to post them. People used to have to write a letter, go to the post office, get a stamp, and post it. This was the usual manner of how things where done. A quote from a wise lady was "once we all get into the way of email we will soon forget about writing letters. It will be more of a burden, than something done to keep in touch with someone, or to send information etc. Sure writing letters takes longer than an email but, isn't it nice to receive something in the mail which is not a bill or some junk mail? There are still people who write letters; but their numbers demisinish slowly as our generations turns more towards the internet and email.
I predict that as time goes by writing letters shall become obsolite, as the floppy disk and the 8 track once did.

Does the Truth Help or Hurt Relationships?   by Kristin Denton

Remember how your relationship was in the very beginning?

You stayed up all night talking about everything - your dreams and desires and even the things that scare or embarrass you. But then, as the relationship went a long, you stopped talking about so much. Everything became so heavy and meaningful.

In the beginning, things were great. There was a level of trust and open communication that created intimacy and understanding. So, what happened to that? Where did it go and how can you get it back?

I used to try to protect my partner from those heavy, bad moods and ugly thoughts. I went to my room and hung out until I felt like socializing again.

I thought I was noble in my ability to control what came out of my mouth.

I thought I was kind because I never let on what I was thinking.

But what I was doing was ruining my relationships. There was no relationship. I was cutting myself off from others and never allowing them to know me. They never knew what I was thinking or feeling or needing.

I was an island. A very lonely island.

I really thought that if I let people know the ugly thoughts, not only would they be hurt - but they would probably become angry and disown me - betray me, talk shit behind my back. I would be the outcast.

So I beat them to the punch! Hah! I'd banish myself to my own room (or apartment, as I got older). I'd banish myself to silence.

I like this article, because it shows how relationships are nowadays. It tells us how things you do which you think are good can actually be bad. It is easy to understand and very well written. Although this essay does contain some bad language. Overall this essay is a very interesting piece.

   by Jack Jones

how much is the price we pay for fashion? Often the price is two sore feet at the end of a long day in high heels. Like many women, high heels are used to supplement a team, that the legs seem longer and more agile, and to give a bit of Sass in our step. To prevent the foot and leg pain, follow these steps when wearing high heels .

Preparing to Bring heels

When buying high heels, make sure you give enough space at the front of the shoe to not cramp your foot. Store heels in the afternoon when your feet are slightly swollen from being one of them a few hours .

find a shoe with an extensive padding in the soles of Purchasing and insert a .

pair of gel pads on the front of each shoe. Again, make sure you still have a large space in front of the shoe so that the feet are not overcrowded .

using their high heels

Paso

Before use high heels, make sure that your toenails have fallen enough to not press against the front of the shoe. This is an important step, because your feet from sliding forward during the time that their feet are in the shoe, toenails long and can leave harmful effects and even toes bruised.

When I use high heels, maintain good posture. Stand up straight will give you better balance and avoid the uncomfortable tension of the legs and feet .

Paso

When there is a chance, take a seat. If you're using high heels for hours on end, it is important to give your feet a rest and take the weight of the ball of your foot. Move your toes while you sit, and rotate the ankles .

Paso

If you've followed all the instructions, your feet can feel good. There is always the possibility, however, that councils can not do the trick and feet just hurt after hours of high heels. In this situation, remove the floors of emergency and in-skid. Mix your heels in your bag or car and breathe a sigh of relief now that has come out of the shoes .

Paso

Upon arriving home, take your shoes off immediately. If you are hurting, soak in hot water and raise a pile of pillows.

I like this article because its a peak into the life of women, what their little tricks for preventing pain are. This article is easy to read, separated into steps, and is interesting. Overall i think this article is useful to women and is very well written.

Male Guests At The Baby Shower Party   by Janet R.

Baby shower is traditionally thrown to moms-to-be, however, if you are a guy and opt to attend a baby shower party, you might think twice what it would be look like. Most men don't know or don't care about how when or why these baby showers even exists. Our world is constantly changing and more men are taking part in some as of the women's world. It has been even very obvious that men can cook and clean the house, and now is the time for men to perhaps attend baby shower parties that are typically a women's thing.

For a man who have never attended a baby shower party, it can be a bit daunting to attend a party without knowing what to expect. Surprisingly, there are several ideas that will help you in attending such shower without hesitations. You might mingle to some women you know during the shower, but be mindful not to over do it.

I like this article, because for once its pro man and shows how men are nowadays.  This article is easy to read interesting, and has good points to it. It tell us how men are getting more into things that women do such as baby showers. Overall this is a well written article.

Bad ad #1

I think this is a bad ad, because it promotes drinking and urinating on walls. If children see this add, it would make them think that urinating on walls is acceptable. However it is thought out very well, and is very imaginative.

What is tolerance?

What is the the meaning of tolerance?
According to E.M Forster, tolerance is a way of getting on in life, without having having to deal with all the things which make people angry. Tolerance does not have to be love, or hate, or destruction. I think Tolerance is just a way of getting on in your life without conflicts. Without tolerance the world will fall into chaos and destruction. Without tolerance the world will be separated, and people would never learn to work with each other. I think Forster's idea about tolerance not being love is true, you cannot love something you do not know. You also cannot love something you are trying to tolerate.
Overall i think tolerance is just another way of surviving in the world today, getting through the hardships, learning to live with others.

Letter to Mr. Kristof

Dear Mr. Kristof

I read your opinionated article in class, “Obama and the War on Brains.” I thought it was a terrible article I really did not like it. There are may reasons why I did not like your article, one of the main reasons is that you presented yourself as an overly confident writer. This article is offensive; you make the American nation seem like a bunch of idiots which is far from the truth.
Your article was also overly bias, and very unprofessional.
I also find your article to be a bit racist, as you say the stereotype of a black man is a pointy-head ivory tower elitist. Everyone has a freedom of speech but to put down other people is shameful.
I also totally disagree with your statement, that intellectuals are full of them selves as well as ideas. If some one is smart they have the right to be smart, and not be judged.
As for you theory that American presidents hide their intellectuality is total hogwash. Being smart doesn’t hurt you; it actually can help you in many things. It also does not make you look weak in any way; it actually makes you stronger enabling you to make good decisions.
Over all I think you just ended up criticizing all the people in your article. The truth is your no better then any of those people so don’t criticize them on how smart they are or what their race is.
I’m sorry to be this harsh, but its the only way to get my opinion across.
Yours sincerely
Michael Philippe

What is the definition of pain?

I don't really have a definition of pain I don't think anyone could actually define it, but I can say what I think it is personally. Pain to me is a feeling that can be triggered by many things, physically and emotionally. Pain is a feeling people do not like, it causes great physical distress or emotional distress. Pain often follows after an injury of some sort in the form of physical pain. For emotional pain it usually follows after an upsetting situation, such as a death or a brake up.
There is a thousand definitions of pain but not one that can sum them all up.
